The Name is Bond, James Bond
What do James Bond and ITIL have in common?
Both are on her majesty’s (not so secret) service to save the world from bad guys and, well…IT process management bad practices too!
In the late 80’s, the CCTA (Central Computer and Telecommunications Agency) of the British government introduced a set of comprehensive IT service management best practices, in the form of a library, with a goal to significantly strengthen the government’s IT capabilities. The library known as the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) consisted of over 40 books. Shortly after its inception Pink Elephant asked the CCTA permission to share the library with the world and to create a certification program. The rest as they say, is history…
We are very proud of our pioneering spirit! Since Pink introduced ITIL education and certification to the world, ITIL has evolved through several different phases, but is still recognized as the world’s most respected set of IT service management best practices.
