The Music Man comes to Irvine High School! Irvine High School, Irvine

The Music Man follows con man Harold Hill on a quest to organize and lead a boys band. He scurries around selling innocent townsfolk band instruments and uniforms but with his little musical knowledge, Harold plans to skip town before he has to give his promised music lessons. Strait-laced librarian and piano teacher, Marian Paroo, sees right through him. When he agrees to help her younger brother overcome his awkwardness, Marian finds herself falling for him. Being a charmer, he risks getting caught in his scheme to win over her heart. This story is told through some of the broadway hit songs which include: “Seventy-Six-Trombones,” “Marian The Librarian,” “Pickalittle (Talk-A-Little),” and “Gary, Indiana.”

This heartwarming and humorous production is being put on by the amazing Performing Arts department at IHS, including Tina Peterson (Producer), Chelsea Skoien (Director), Dani Widerman (Technical Director), Sheryl Sloate (Dance Director), Benjamin Glasner (Vocal Director), and Derek Venlet and Josue Valle (Instrumental Directors). Iris Nguyen serves as the extraordinary Stage Manager. Our cast has gone through multiple auditions and has been selectively chosen to allow each member to act out their character to the best of their abilities. This production would not be possible without the hard work of the phenomenal cast, designers, tech crew, and pit.

This show performs March 2nd-4th, 2023 at 7 pm with a matinee performance on Saturday, March 4th at 1 pm.
