The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is undertaking a massive airport expansion and upgrade program to serve 330 million travellers by 2030 through $147 billion in investments that will support $82.3 billion of GDP by 2037.
The Kingdom plans to launch a new national airline to complement its existing flag carrier and expand its existing international and domestic airports. Saudi Arabia is relaunching its strategy to privatize its airports in order to secure investment and triple annual visitor numbers by 2030. GACA and Matarat Holding Company have announced the official transformation of 25 airports to private sector bodies, including Jeddah Airports Company and the Cluster 2 Company. The goal is to improve service, integrate international best practices, and increase competitiveness. Investment and commercial opportunities in the sector, including airports, freight, catering, maintenance, and ground services, will be opened to local and foreign investors soon.
